I am a very active person: I hike, I mountain bike and also road bike, I snowshoe, I cross-country ski and downhill ski. All these activities make me physically fit and strong, but they also tighten my body and muscles. Some two years ago, I decided to participate in Yoga in order to stretch my body and loosen my muscles. Very quickly, I reaped the benefits from the Yoga exercises. My body has become more flexible and my muscles have become more supple.

Furthermore, Yoga helps me to calm the mind. Regular breathing and focusing on the NOW make the mind more quiet. Thanks to regular Yoga practice, I feel mentally more at easy. The following Yoga axiom (as heard at Trinity Yoga practice) illustrates what I believe is fundamental about Yoga: “Replace the thoughts in your mind with the sensations in your body.”

In short, Yoga benefits body and mind.
